Timeless Places

The project is about timelessness and displays the places in Cornwall County of UK.

Each photo is captured at a different location and either has a historical significance to human existence or is a famous tourist attraction. The project’s inspiration was derived from Darshan’s love and interest in long exposure photography and his fascination with stars and galaxies.

His photos are not bound by time and explore the present as well as the past, and one might say even the future. The light from the stars takes millions of light years to get to earth and the stars that we see today may not even exist anymore, but we will not know about it for another million light years. Quite strange? Time! The photos are a combination of different techniques and take hours to create including in-camera work and post-production.

Every photo comprises hundreds of photos stacked and blended into one to get the right exposure for the foreground and the background. He came across various challenges and failed numerous times before getting the right shot. He even camped and walked overnight to get to various locations. However, his patience, dedication and motivation towards the project paid off in the end.

Virtually, the prints look amazing, but they come into their own world when printed. It was only possible with financial assistance from one of his friends, Tallulah Stringer, who helped him get the photos printed in 12×18 size on Fine Art Baryta paper. He also wants to thank Emlyn Morris, who accompanied him on most of his adventures.
